Nowadays, cemeteries tend to respond to functions that are not conceived by human needs, but rather a dark industry. NECROPOLIS aims to create a real place to support the grief, through a radical and pioneering program. It is a tangible cemetery that considers a lot of parameters : sustainability, social habits, historical facts, politics, urban history... The concept could be adapted to any city in need of a better cemetery - yet this project is designed in harmony with its site : java eiland, in Amsterdam.
