While current winery practices in Baja, California exploit water resources in the valley, we imagine a winery that prioritizes water conservation to support its wine production. This winery explores a method of construction that utilizes cut and fill of the land, simple toolkits, and on-site materials to create an inhabitable water collection infrastructure of two contrasting materialities. The site leaves traces of its elements, earth and fog, on the building itself, concentrating the experience of the terroir with otherwise banal construction techniques.
