The project site is in one of the most disaster prone areas of Bangladesh, Barguna. The merging of saline and fresh water along with the coastal embankment provides it with unique characteristics. The main objective was to look for solutions that can mitigate the harmful effects of unplanned living on the verge of the country’s coastal forests. The chosen site was on the northern edge of a 10,003 acres reserved mangrove forest named TENGRAGIRI. The coastal embankment on the main land strictly defines the saline and fresh water zones here.
