The stonemason bungalow is cast in concrete. Located in the rolling hills of the Bavarian Forest, the monolithic house responds with a cantilevering roof against the line on the horizon. The interplay of solid structure and void spaces creates wide openings framing light falling though the forest. A massive dormer offering magnificent views to the west sets a striking accent. 60cm thick walls constructed of thermal insulated lightweight concrete incorporate the arts and craft work of local carpentry. Wth a 14cm thick CLT roof the construction creates a pleasant indoor climate for all seasons.
