Built in 1926 and severely damaged by an earthquake in 1988, the Sevyan Cultural Centre is now rehabilitated to become a lively place embodying an innovative approach. The project aims to strengthen cultural exchange by making the site a hub of physical and social connection between people. Geometric volumes are inserted inside the preserved stone façade to maintain the link between the old and the new, and house a state-of-the-art performance hall for 500 people. The entrance is enhanced by a stone apron and gardens are redesigned to allow visitors to experience the creativity of the place.
