The nature-centric apartment building fosters engagement both with the street and within the building. It engages the large sycamore with a playful treehouse effect, and provides a sense of nurture to the neighborhood in a post-pandemic age. Deep loggias which are carved into the facade take advantage of the LA climate. They mark gathering spaces and work zones for residents close to their apartments. These indoor/outdoor hollows also lower carbon footprint. The Corten steel turns a deep orange--like a ripening fruit-- and frames the surrounding flora, mimicking their organic shapes.
