A massive explosion in the Lebanese capital Beirut killed thousands of people on August 4, 2020. The buildings at the site of the explosion were razed to the ground. Hundreds of buildings in the surrounding area were also severely damaged. The reconstruction project in the port area means the healing and renewal of the scars of the city of Beirut. A new lighthouse is being built on the border between the Mediterranean Sea and the Arabian Peninsula. It is a monument to this tragic event and a new hope for the future.
