The Swissmill Tower is the tallest operating grain elevator in the world. Standing at 118 metres, it is the second tallest building in the city of Zurich, Switzerland. It was built in the years 2013 to 2016, replacing the original mill built in 1843 on the same site. The fact that such a traditional industry draws attention with such an oversized landmark in one of the most vibrant and dynamic areas of the city is one of the most surprising things about Zurich’s recent urban development.
