The concept for new building for the Criminal Investigation Department of the Zurich City Police is based on the spatial integration of the structure into the lines of the surrounding buildings, resulting in a diamond- shaped figure. Adjacent to the street, the building cantilevers to create a representative entrance to the central core, around which the offices are arranged on the upper floors. An atrium connects the upper floors and contributes to the open atmosphere of the building. The design of the façade deliberately seeks to contrast with the building’s high security requirements.
