The objective was to design an organically fitting waterpark in Nagyerdo a forest protected by the Natura2000 EU reserve program. The concept focuses on the life-giving aspect of water and the surrounding forest. The sculpture-like central visual piece is a 196mx26m size, 12m high cuboid, incorporating several functions such as thermal and other pools, waterslides, and a sunbathing terrace. The building’s heating system uses the released heat from the thermal water when it is cooled to optimum temperature. Up to 70% of the complex’s entire energy need comprises of renewables.
