The centerpiece of Expo2020 Dubai, Al Wasl is the soul of the post-expo Legacy District. The sloped garden is landscaped for relaxation and events of varied types and scales. A 65m trellis covers the garden with material porous enough to allow light, air, and water to pass, while being opaque enough to shade and cool the space by 12-degrees. After dusk the trellis becomes a 360-degree projection screen with curated digital content to accompany world-class performers. A rigorous set of KPI’s were adhered to, ranging from water to light to air quality to waste, and for heightened performance.
