Formerly a service business, this expansive storefront space was chosen to develop an office program. The challenge was to reappropriate this highly exposed space into a much more private environment without losing all the natural light. As such, the proposal establishes a twofold landscape: one interior and the other exterior. The work spaces are designed around a succession of masonry blocks that recreate the impression of a bright outdoor urban environment. A double height space allows the natural light to reach the basement and becomes a pivot point among the multiple adjacent spaces.
