This Project is located in a dense urban environment in Hong Kong. In order to release both physical and mental stress of urban dwellers, the project attempts to create a home space enclosed by water, trees, stones, sky and sunshine, where people can spend their time with families, relaxing and living a healthy life. Inspired by a Zen saying, that if only embraced by mountain and river people can naturally hear the clear and pure sound, the project creates an artful residential landscape, and hopes people can feel the richness of mind by living in a natural environment. To achieve this, the project combines stones of distinct characters to a united beautiful space. The waves of Nature are expressed by rough nature stone planters and walls, while the urban elements are expressed by black granite stones. In addition, the project emphasizes the sound of water. When people walk through the water falls, they can hear water falling down to the ponds, see the waves expanding, and feel the light from sky windows casting shadows on water. On the other hand, the project takes functionality into consideration, creating a natural stone paved garden space that integrated with interior space, can be used for barbecue or other outdoor activities. Most of the stone used in the project is Aji stone, which is produced in Japan, with a featured brown- colored rusted surface and gray-colored inside. Therefore it is able to show various faces by the different way of processing. As the residents come back home and walk through the landscape, all the elements in this project -- plantings, stones, water and so on -- will change their mood and mind naturally to the relaxing fulfilled status.
