Projects transformed former primary school of Tsing Yuen primary school at Tsing Yi village of Tonglu, Hangzhou, including renovation of two old school buildings, new building with capacity of 100 people. Renovation of old school buildings follows design of "old repair as old". Demolition made old, relatively broken wall tiles, wood sheathing; keeping grinded, processed, reinforcement to old wooden beams, timber purlin; installing new wood sheathing, wall tiles, tiles. Two stone walls with delicate colors, interesting textures kept interior as background of audio-visual classroom. Corridor, old purlin replaced by woven mat of sheathing wooden frame, old buildings endowed expression by new colonnade, grey sense sequence, without losing original memory. New building located southeast side of base, merged vision of opening. Elevation adopted unified modulus, opening landing glass of old schoolhouse, letting vision presenting without shelter, blended distant opening scene. Rectangular modern rust board used to add row of frames to east side of building, when looking out from inside, natural, modern, and historical scenes blended strongly. Mottled tower kept at inner east side, new slope overhead outdoor corridor added, you can remove, overlook. What we express is to keep simplicity, truth, dealt relationship with history, laid new building quietly.
