Tajimaya Shabushabu

This restaurant is the shabu shabu restaurant located on the fifth story of The Arcade, commercial area of Mandarin Oriental Taipei. We designed whole space with ORIGAMI (folded paper) motif using various materials. At the entrance approach, composed of translucent acrylic panels, with the light from above and bottom of hall way makes the cross sections of the panels show beautiful geometric pattern. Inside the restaurant, we used steel origami as a partition which gave nuances to the space. The main dining room is half public with undulated wall decoration with indirect lighting from the ceiling.
