Completed in September 2015, the five-story, 250,000-square-foot New Balance World Headquarters building is the sole LEED v2009 CS Platinum project in the United States to achieve all Indoor Environmental Quality credits, and only the third in the world. This milestone is an expression of New Balance’s commitment to pursuing the highest levels of sustainability for its products, facilities, and operations, as well as its long history of working to give back to the communities in which it operates and manufactures. Treading lightly on limited resources, striving for zero waste in what it does, and assessing the life cycle impacts of its products and activities are inherent to the New Balance strategic vision, both past and future. The LEED Platinum certification of the new headquarters is testament to that commitment. Careful consideration was taken to provide employees with plentiful daylight, fresh air, and green space. Floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides and glass-walled conference rooms grouped at the core allow daylight to reach deep into every floor.
