Creative hotel that initiates surprising chemical reaction. Kyoto Granbell Hotel took the Japanese traditional technique and hotel functions, then mixed with cutting edge ideas and latest technology from all over the world. The result is a chemical reaction that exceeds expectations which gives guests a new surprise and comfort. The front desk and the bar appointed 150- year-old drawers and ranmas (transom), above the guest room beds are Kimono artworks, mural art is converted into floor art, the underground public baths created artificial skylights, and the sunken courtyard compliments the tranquil environment of guest rooms in the basement. The hotel’s interior design creates various kinds of chemical chain reactions that narrate in the space and in the functions, as a result established the new and creative “hospitality space.”
