This project takes place in an early 19th century building that first served as a textile mill, then a Campbell’s soup factory, before becoming a condo complex. The original structure was exposed, posts and joists of massive BC fir creating a warm accent. A series of brick arches serve as a natural divider between the different living spaces of the loft and as a counterpoint to the project’s centerpiece, a massive multi-functional white oak volume. Quebec’s geological richness is highlighted with the island countertop, a slab of black honed St-Henry granite.
