For Francesco Risso, the creative director of Italian fashion house Marni, his left-old-field Milan home offers freewheeling escapism with individualistic streak. He completed the renovations during the lockdown, self-painting rooms and letting himself be guided by instinct. Risso wanted to achieve something mysterious by creating a 1930s ambience with darker hues. For Risso, a home is a place to share a personal vision. It’s this fantastical ideal of freedom that guided him in his choice of furniture and objects:he loves the classic imprint but full of irregularities.
