Na Khoang village is a mountainous area where Thai ethnic people reside. Inspired by the traditional Thai dance, the new design represents the spirit of solidarity and sharing. The varied roof angles and colour palette are visually interesting and exciting for school children. The school was constructed using natural materials: adobe brick that takes advantage of the on-site soil, which otherwise would be construction waste, and stones collected by the locals from nearby streams. The walls, built from various materials, have colours and patterns inspired by traditional brocade weaving.
