This project, for an exciting young winemaker and his father, a world-renowned photographer, is designed as a bold expression of the winemaker’s groundbreaking wines, the bond between this father-son team, and the winery’s uniquely beautiful site on the floor of the Sonoma Valley. Oriented to capture the breezes and views of the Sonoma Mountains to the west, the small but striking hospitality building - which is set at a small distance from the production winery - is a visual manipulation of the elements of a lens - or aperture - defined by light, views and transparent indoor/outdoor spaces.
