Winter in Canada is an exceptionally beautiful time for pictures. It’s tough on the hands, but snow and soft winter light have special qualities that can bring a project to life. A perforated ‘veil’ made of identical panels of weathered steel wraps this house in a residential suburb of Winnipeg. The panels peel back in places, creating new spaces underneath. The veil provides privacy and introduces light to interior - as well as creating a brooding presence in an otherwise conventional neighbourhood. The image was made on behalf of Winnipeg's 5468796 Architecture.
