BEYOND BARE LIFE: REGENERATION OF THE COX'S BAZAAR REFUGEE CAMP WITH A DESIGN CONCEPT OF A MULTI-PURPOSE ORPHANAGE

Project addresses the ongoing Rohingya refugee crisis, their migrations and impacts on refugee-inhabited settlements. It delves into migration routes and evolution of arrival towns aiming to bring urban regeneration to Cox's Bazaar Camp. The proposals target the uncontrolled shelter growth, including revitalizing of existing urban structures and redesigning housing units based on patterns from Myanmar. A multipurpose orphanage design carries the potential to transcend the bare life conditions and offer refugees a humane new beginning, thus it serves as a reference for mitigating social issues.
