San Cataldo Cemetery, Modena. Architects Aldo Rossi and Gianni Braghieri designed the modern part of the cemetery in 1971, in a rationalist-metaphysical style, with essential and clean lines. The complex has been inaugurated in 1987 and it is not completed yet. In the center of the courtyard there is a tall, cubic-shaped building, which represents the "city of the dead" as opposed to the "city of the living".
