It is absolutely impressive to stand in front of the nightly illuminated Vasco da Gama Bridge (Ponte Vasco da Gama) near Lisbon, which with its more than 12 km length feels endlessly stretching across the river Tejo. Built for the World Expo 98, it is one of the longest bridges in Europe and the world.
