"Hong Kong Lines and Patterns" portrays different urban characters and subjects in the context of their surrounding geometric environment. However, the subjects appear trapped and lost in an artificial geometric maze without realising it. The urban structure seems to confine and enclose them into small boxes with no escape, suggesting the modern condition of how we succumb to the allure of the urban landscape that we have created. Perhaps this is a metaphorical view of urbanity while also implying the way of hectic modern city life in a metropolis like Hong Kong.
