Casa no Meco is a single-family house located in Aldeia do Meco and its rural character was affected by out-of-scale buildings from the 80s. The proposal was a simple building with a pitched roof that follows the village identity. In the street facade small openings were made to ensure some privacy. Inside, the house gradually opens to its garden. The materials respect the local tradition and hark back to well-known images of mediterranean villages. It's through a contemporary approach of subtraction that the undesirable surroundings are contoured and the privileged sun exposure is exploited.
