The Huangpu District Archives in Shanghai had to choose a renovation project for a building from the 1990s due to space constraints. The unique triangular balcony was preserved, and the window size was cleverly reduced to soften the light and buffer the humidity and temperature differences between indoors and outdoors, adding an extra layer of protection to the interior space. The facade was wrapped in a new curtain wall form, with the ceramic tile facade embedded using a metal clip principle to secure the bricks from the front by striking them into prefabricated stainless steel backing plates
