Inspired by the moving experience at the Paula Rego Museum, designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura, we created Emma House, a project that seeks to convey the same serenity through light. Emma House, a contemporary reinterpretation of the Purépecha troje, uses wood as a central material, evoking a deep respect for tradition. On a compact site, light and space are efficiently managed, creating an atmosphere that invites contemplation. Emma House is a tribute to light, to Paula Rego, and to Emma, who now guides us from the sky.
