Perched on 40-acres above tall grasses and overlooking a pond with old growth cedar and oak trees, Hill Country Retreat is designed as a place to connect with nature. The retreat was inspired by the owner’s travels and African safari lodges. An exoskeleton of salvaged oil field drill stem pipe pairs with Ipe decking, bronze insect screen, and a laced canvas roof with long expansive eaves to keep guests shaded from the Texas sun and protected from insects. An Airstream trailer registers into the decking, providing modern air-conditioned glamping amenities to the open-air screened structure.
