The architectural and landscape design of the REM network stems from an urban integration charter featuring unifying design elements for a consistent signature, thus redefining public transit. The use of wood, and the juxtaposition of horizontal and vertical lines capture the trains’ forward movement, while transparency facilitates wayfinding, enhances the sense of security and helps to integrate within a variety of neighborhoods and urban settings. REM stations are starting points for urban development, and incubators of possibilities that stand to transform the urban way of life.
