The rapid transformation of city skylines around the world has produced a plethora of generic glazed boxes. Defying this pattern, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill's design of the new DMCC headquarters in Dubai was inspired by the facets of diamonds, an acclaimed success story for the that company. Diamonds are one of the earth's most precious creations and are the most durable known natural material, symbolizing eternal endurance blending beauty with strength, an apt metaphor for an iconic tower.
