The Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre is the first full concrete PPVC hotel constructed in Singapore. Nestled in the Chinatown district, the exterior design is inspired by elements of the conserved shophouses, an icon in the tourist district. Some of these are manifested with the modulation of façade podium guided by the width of traditional shophouses, ceiling design baring resemblance of the shophouse floorboards and vertical feature fins powder coated to the roof tile terracotta colours.
