Big cities can be described as a reversal of nature; Sealed surfaces, concrete, glass – hardly any green. This leads to more heat, dust, noise and greater stress for humans. To counteract this local recreation areas are created and facades in particular offer plenty of space for greenery. The series was created in Singapore, where developers of new buildings are obliged to green at least the newly sealed surface. These lower the ambient temperature, absorb pollutants and noise. This increases people’s well-being and improves the microclimate and biodiversity.
