In Japan, 48% of single-mother families live in poverty. Home Shinjuku aims to aid low-income single mothers in Tokyo with housing and jobs through a shared life. This project isn't just architecture; it's a product and strategy. It provides a toolkit and design guidelines, showcasing how surplus spaces in crowded Shinjuku can be transformed into spaces where single-mother families live and operate small businesses together. Its mission is to economically and socially empower these marginalized families to attain self-sufficiency and redefine concepts of home and family.
