Diné Bikéyah is a community food and education center located in Shonto, Arizona, the heart of Navajo Nation. It aims to combat the issue of food insecurity by reestablishing the strong connection the Navajo people have to their land while creating a safe community space where food and traditional cuisine can be celebrated. Nested in the Canyons of Shonto, the project utilizes three large roofs to shape a new landscape and ground with the buildings underneath. The buildings become the land as the land becomes the buildings, blurring the lines between interior and exterior.
