"A Pool For Reflection" addresses a strong history of development and gentrification concerning the lack of recreational zones in the neighborhood of Oakwood Venice. The pool flips the developed height datum along with the narrative, creating nested permeable zones on the ground level, while the pitched roof typology creates layered spaces blending between levels. While the ground plane actively channels the users into areas of low to high-intensity recreational pockets, the upper level flies above, creating a spatial hum, a moment of reflection for a newly revitalized community space.
