Soul Nexus reimagines the 1810-built Custom House Leith as an inclusive space supporting mental health, youth empowerment, and LGBTQ+ advocacy. By utilizing gradual spatial openings and strategic lighting, the project creates seamless transitions between distinct zones, fostering connectivity. Inspired by Jan Gehl’s and Aldo Van Eyck’s principles, it emphasizes the importance of transition spaces in promoting mental and emotional health—the transition design bridges tangible and intangible experiences, providing a dynamic environment that supports both individual and collective.
