The CAAD student lounge at the American University of Sharjah is a renovated space where students from the College of Architecture, Art and Design can relax, socialize, and work casually. Designed and built entirely by fourth-year interior design students over an academic semester, the lounge features a high work bar, various seating options, and a display case. Conceptually, the project revolves around three ‘folded’ planes that form the functional design elements, each surface made from a mosaic of carved wood and cork modules. This project was funded by the College's Design-Build Initiative
