Guardian is a window that can be temporarily opened during a fire to create a refuge area, overcoming issues with security window obstructing escape and the risk of falling from standing on the window ledge to avoid burns. It can be used as a regular window or balcony, but during a fire, users can easily push it open to create a refuge area. Those with mobility issues can use a hydraulic lift to assist in crossing the window frame. The unfolded PBI fireproof cover not only prevents smoke inhalation but also blurs the view of the lower floors, reducing psychological barriers.
