The West Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Project is an artificial island in the South China Sea. It is a functional hub integrating bridge-tunnel transition, management and maintenance, fire rescue, science, education and tourism. The building blends into the mountainous and coastal environment with a simple geometric shape, while reflecting the temperament of infrastructure architecture. With a heavy concrete base to hide large-scale transportation equipment, the public activity layer is raised to the 3-story platform, so that people can have a wider and more tranquil sea view.
