As if it were always there

As an architectural photographer an opportunity to photograph the tallest building of our times, the Burj Khalifa, is irresistible. So, when I traveled to Dubai this February, my intent was to make some photographs of the Burj Khalifa where the building itself is not the main subject - rather in a supporting role. The atmosphere, and natural elements like birds and the full moon take more importance in this series of three photographs. The silhouettes of other skyscrapers together with the Burj stand like sentinels in a modern-day Stonehenge as the setting sun glints off their shiny surfaces.
