Located in Chaoyuan Village, Rizhao, Shandong Province, in the heart of a 10,000-acre tea plantation，the project is originally a completely abandoned natural village consisting of six deserted courtyards and a forest. The design respects the memory of the site, preserving the texture of the site.Old trees are kept,the stone buildings are repaired which carries the memory of the site. And a new free-standing building is added among them. As a rural public building, the gray space formed by the building's large roof provides shade and rest for local farmers, providing public benefits for locals.
