Permeable City challenges Otto Wagner’s hygienic vision—where only 4% of land was permeable—by proposing a new urban framework that reintegrates soil into daily life. A grid of open yards structures community life, combining public programs, adaptable housing, and shared landscapes. Three spatial layers—yard, in-between space, and personal domain—support ecological immersion at multiple scales. Bridges act as elevated public forums; toolboxes enable self-organized uses, fostering a resilient, porous urban ecology.
