A resilient park in Bintulu, Sarawak, repurposing a former airport into a multifunctional public space. The design tackles flood risks, safety, and ecological decline while preserving local history. The runway becomes a “Runway Park” with indigenous symbols and aircraft parts. Rain gardens and detention ponds manage rainfall, and flexible spaces support recreation and emergency use. This eco-friendly project restores ecosystems, honors the past, and strengthens disaster resilience for a sustainable future.
