Jakarta faces severe land subsidence from decades of groundwater pumping and industrial extraction, causing flooding climate crisis and unequal water access. UN-SINK proposes a systemic design response that restores aquifers through retrofitted injection wells, provides clean water via rain catchment and treatment, and integrates engineering with local water rituals. By merging infrastructure innovation with cultural continuity, it bridges speculation and reality, envisioning an adaptive, resilient urban ecology that renews the city’s relationship with land and water.
