Belonging to the Ontario College of Art & Design University, the Rosalie Sharp Pavilion was designed as a landmark building that functions as a dynamic gateway into the campus. The project involves a complete interior and exterior renovation and revisioning of an existing building. The building is wrapped in perforated stainless-steel scrim sensitively designed in relation to the built context. The scrim operates not only as a shading device to control solar gain, but also represents a data visualization of downtown Toronto streets overlaid with locations of art and cultural institutions.
