Located on Wicker Park in Chicago, this building was originally built as a single family in 1885. Over the years, the house was reconfigured into apartment units and suffered numerous interior alterations that compromised the structure and left it deteriorating. The new owners, a young couple with children, wished to reunite the home’s original grandeur while introducing modern elements to its interiors. The house maintains its original Italianate façade while the interiors unfold onto modern open floor plans. In the rear, a second story gym is connected by a glass gallery bridge.
