This is a sales office of a company that designs and installs lightning protection systems. Originally planned for demolition, this 35-year-old building was regenerated through a designer's proposal to create value unattainable through new construction, with design scope extending to final demolition. In Japan, with population decline even in major cities, structurally sound buildings are still demolished after 20-40 years. This proposal combines reduction, addition, and overlay techniques to create new richness in "ordinary" buildings while reducing waste and CO2 emissions.
