Casa del Este is a self sufficient retreat located just 40 meters from the sea in Cabo del Este, Baja California Sur. It uses compacted earth walls made from on-site soil as thermal mass, maximizing passive strategies for ventilation and solar control. Fully off-grid, it operates through solar energy and water treatment systems. The design draws on the traditional Mexican typology of interior patios for natural ventilation, incorporating a central tree and low-water native vegetation to blend with the environment. It prioritizes privacy, landscape, and a deeply sustainable Design.
